DESCRIPTION
The NOAA Ocean Buoys application provides users with access to live data transmitted from over 120 buoys scattered throughout North America, Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, Europe, and the Caribbean. Most buoys provide information about current wave heights, wave periods, wind speed, wind direction, air temperature, water temperature, atmospheric pressure, pressure tendency, and dew points. One of the best tools for professionals and general enthusiasts alike.

FINDING BUOYS
Buoys can be found based on their region or by using the interactive map provided that uses precise GPS coordinates of each buoy’s location to create a visual tool to find buoys of interest. Buoys can also be searched for by their station Id’s or using search terms that may describe their location.

Data for buoys is provided by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

This app to be good need to include buoys at central america and indonesia! I want my money back
I suppose its helpful if youre lucky enough to be near one of the few buoys it has. Unfortunately there are no buoys near me so I wasted my money on this.
Great app,very intuitive to use. With all the major NOAA buoys available, the info supplied from the buoys lets you know what is happening with the ocean direct from the NOAA buoys. Watching the ocean while checking the buoy data on your iphone gives you insight for later as to what the conditions are when you cant see the ocean, a great learning tool. Finding buoys at other locations is a snap also.
No bouy info for southern california bouys.
My cousins are all pro surfers and use this app all the time. I am just learning, but I love reading the data and seeing where the swells are. Highly recommended!!!!
